Sams Electrical Superstore Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to all orders and transactions conducted on the 'Sam's Electrical Superstore' website. Please read them carefully. We will ask you to read and accept these terms each time you place an order with us. We will treat each order you place as an offer by you to purchase the goods subject to these terms and conditions. We may amend these terms and conditions at any time. They do not affect your statutory rights.

Payment & Site Security

Sage Pay provide a cost effective gateway which allows our customers to securely make payment for goods from our website.

Sage Pay's high levels of encryption maintain the security and privacy of all card details.

Our Sage Pay accounts allow direct payment of items using any major credit card, without the need for you to set-up an account!


All prices listed on samsyerman.co.uk are displayed in UK pounds sterling. Payment can only be taken in UK pounds sterling. The Euro rate is a guide only and subject to the exchange rate offered by your bank or credit card company.

They are all inclusive of VAT (but not standard delivery within Ireland)

We accept payment from major credit cards (with the exception of American Express & Laser), Debit Cards and by Cheque.

Cheque payment will be subject to acceptance procedure and cheque clearance before delivery can be arranged. This may take up to 10 days.

Cheques to be made payable to "Sam's Electrical Superstore LTD" with your order reference wrote on the back of the cheque. Please forward cheques to: Sam's Electrical Superstore LTD, 35 Regent Street, Newtownards, BT234AD.

Processing of Orders

Credit and Debit Cards will be debited before items are shipped.


We take every care to ensure that the description and specifications of our products are correct. The colours used on this website are as close a representation as possible to the actual product, however we cannot accept responsibility for any variations in colour caused by the browser software or computer system used by you.

Please read these product terms and conditions carefully as they set out the terms under which Sam's Electrical Superstore LTD makes the products available to you ("product Terms"). They only apply to goods purchased by telephone as per the Distant Selling Directive.

The prices payable for the items that you order are expressed inclusive of any VAT payable. The price of the items does not include delivery charges.

You can pay with any Maestro, Delta, Mastercard or Visa card. Authority for payment must be given at the time of order. It may be necessary to re-confirm your security number for data protection reasons. Payment will be taken for out of stock items to secure stock, only if you're happy to proceed with the order and agree to wait for the goods.

When buying by telephone, we only deliver to the address that matches the billing address of the credit card or debit card holder. This is to protect our customers against any potential card fraud.

If you are buying goods for a family member or if you are a business or landlord and the cardholder and delivery address are not the same you must discuss the payment and delivery/collection options with a representative.

If for any reason beyond our reasonable control, we are unable to supply a particular item, we will notify you as soon as possible. Offer an alternative or a full Refund.

There will be no contract of any kind between you and us until payment for your goods is authorised by your bank or credit card issuer. At any point up until then, we may decline to supply to you without giving any reason. At the moment that payment for the goods is authorised, and not before, a contract will be made between you and us. Authority for payment must be given at the time of the order. If for any reason the goods cannot be supplied then payment will be refunded in full.

It is important to note that product dimensions do not include any protruding features such as, controls and handles etc. Product dimensions represent the casing of the product only.

Cancellation Pre-delivery

Cancellations made prior to the point of dispatch from our warehouse (generally 3 full working days prior to the delivery date) will incur a cancellation fee of £25 (inc. VAT). Return of dispatched goods is much more involved, and post-dispatch cancellations will consequently incur a return fee of up to 25% of the order value, plus a £25 admin fee. Although we do endeavour to minimise this, the return fee reflects the direct cost to us as applied by our couriers for the return of goods to our premises.

Return of Unwanted Goods

Provided that the goods are in their original packaging and have not been installed or used you have a right to cancel in writing within 7 days of delivery and unwanted items may be returned, but at your own cost and risk.


Products can usually be delivered anywhere in Ireland. Restrictions and/or surcharges may apply to certain combinations of products and locations.

The majority of products will normally be delivered within 7 days from clearance of payment. With an exception of White Goods (i.e. Kitchen Appliances) which we aim to deliver between 7 - 14 days from clearance of payment.

While we will endeavour to maintain these estimated lead times, all items are subject to availability and therefore there may be occasions when delivery times are outside our direct control. Any dates specified for deliveries are approximate and we shall not be held liable for any losses, costs, damages or expenses incurred by you due to any delay for delivery of the goods.

We will notify you of any item you have ordered which is out of stock and endeavour to provide an estimated lead-time for this item. You have the right to cancel any order where the item requested is out of stock beyond the normal delivery lead times.

The goods ordered will be delivered to the address you give us at the time you make your order. A valid signature is required on delivery, and you will become the owner of the goods on delivery of them to you. The customer is strongly advised to inspect all goods before acceptance and to retain the original packaging for at least 7 days in case return of the item is necessary (see above). All times or dates given for the delivery of the goods are approximate. Date or time of delivery does not form part of our contract.

It is the duty of customers to inform us at time of purchase of any site-related restrictions which could cause problems for delivery of large or heavy items.

Delivery will be made by 1 man and help on site will be required for range cookers, fridge-freezers, washing machines, washer-dryers and any other item that is outside health and safety guide lines. Due to insurance restrictions deliveries can only be to the ground floor.
Please let us know of any problematic aspects of delivery, ie: steps, narrow door ways, soft path ways, road access. We reserve the right to refuse delivery where, in our reasonable opinion, it would put our drivers at risk. An example of such a situation would be where a driver is requested to carry a heavy range cooker over part of a building site.

If a failed delivery occurs due to customers not being present on the agreed day, or other customer or site-related reasons, then a fee will be charged of up to £60 to cover the cost of returning or re-delivering the goods.

All risk associated with the product becomes yours after receipted delivery.


Sale contract

Input errors may be corrected up to the point where you submit your order to us, the point at which you click the confirm order button.

Your order will be acknowledged by way of an email, in which you will receive an order reference and details of the product(s) which you have ordered. This is simply an acknowledgement of your order.

Once your payment authorisation has been received by us, a further email will be sent confirming goods ready for delivery. The dispatch of this email is the point at which a legally binding contract will be formed between us. You will be contacted by telephone prior to delivery date by the appointed couriers.

We may decline your order, if so we will inform you.

External credit reference agencies may be contacted with regard to your offer. Your details may be passed to them prior to any order being accepted.

Accuracy of Information

It is the intention of samsyerman.co.uk to provide accurate and up to date information regarding our products and services. However, it is not possible to guarantee total accuracy or total reliability of information contained within its pages at all times therefore all actions taken by the user of the website are the responsibility of the individual.

All product related information such as images, product specifications and other information published on our site have been gathered from authorised manufacturer, retail and supplier sources as well as from publications and other public-domain areas.

In the event of inaccurate information being displayed due to typographical error or inaccurate pricing information from our suppliers we shall reserve the right to cancel or refuse any orders stating an incorrect price regardless of whether or not the order has been confirmed. If your credit or debit card has already been charged when the error is discovered then a credit will be issued for the amount of the incorrect price plus any services paid for.

Notification of claims

If the goods delivered have been noted on the delivery consignment note as being either damaged, as a shortage or as being the incorrect item then you must inform us, in writing, within 7 days of delivery. You can report this by e-mailing us on sales@samsyerman.co.uk.

In the case of goods that have not arrived on the specified date you must inform us of this within 7 days of the agreed delivery date. Any failure to report an item or items lost in transit within the 7 days will not be the responsibility of Sam's Electrical Superstore LTD and no liability will be accepted.

Any claims in respect to damage of property caused in the fulfillment of delivery should be directed to the relevant transport agency appointed to deliver.

Goods that are returned under these circumstances that are later found to be perfect and in full working order will be returned to you and an admin fee of up to 15% of the purchase price plus the cost of carriage will be charged to your credit card account.

Order tracking

Once the goods have been dispatched delivery should be tracked by contacting the logistics company responsible for your products delivery. Contact details of the logistics company are advised to you in the order confirmation email.

Product Warranties

All products carry a minimum of one year or 12 months warranty to cover failure of the product through normal domestic use. The warranty does not cover faults caused by customer misuse, neglect and accident. Foreign objects found as the cause of a fault such as coins, wires or similar items will deem the claim for the fault to be invalid. Items with cosmetic damage are also not covered within the rules of the warranty from the manufacturer.

Some products may carry a longer warranty than the standard one year or 12 month warranty supplied with all products. We will endeavour to inform you of this on the site or at the time of purchase.

Extended warranties are available to purchase on most products listed on the website. You will be automatically offered this with all qualifying products.


Cancellations for home delivery items only

You can cancel your purchase by:
- returning the product to one of our stores with your receipt and bringing the card you paid with so we   can credit it, or
- emailing us at Sales@samsyerman.co.uk to request that we collect the product, or
- phoning us on 02891 828282 with your order reference number and delivery details to hand

This does not affect your consumer rights and if you open the goods to inspect them, you can still cancel your purchase at any time either before or up to 7 working days* following the day the goods are delivered.

* “working days” means all days other than Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays

In all cases, your product must be complete and in 'as new' condition. If you have opened the box to examine the product you must have done so without damaging or marking the product or packaging. The product must not have been used or installed. It should be returned with the original box and packaging, along with any accessories you received with it. Pre-recorded videotapes, DVDs, CDs, minidiscs, memory cards and software must still be sealed. Any free gifts received with the product must also be returned.

The cost of return carriage is to be borne by the customer. If you would like us to collect the goods from you, the following collection charges apply; We retain the right to levy a charge equal to the amount to cover return delivery and handling costs.


We will exchange or refund your purchase either before or up to 28 days following the day of delivery if you return the item to us as set out below, but it must be returned unopened and in its original packaging, complete with any free gifts or accessories provided.


The customer shall inspect the products immediately on delivery and shall within 7 days of delivery notify us of any damaged goods, defects or discrepancies. These products must be returned to us in the original packaging. The cost of return carriage is to be borne by the customer – this will be refunded in full if the product proves to be defective. We offer a collection service for your convenience.

Returns Procedure

Please inform us in writing or by email before the goods are returned in order to obtain a returns number.

We do not accept liability for packages damaged during transit and proof of postage is not proof of delivery. We strongly advise you to send your packages by recorded delivery, registered post or courier to maintain sufficient insurance cover to the value of the goods.

Availability of Goods

All goods and services are subject to availability. Goods and services may be withdrawn at any time without prior notice. If you have ordered goods which subsequently become unavailable then your order will be cancelled and your payment refunded.

We will not be liable for any loss on your part arising from our inability to supply any goods or services.


Title to the goods will be yours once we have received payment for the goods.

These terms and conditions are subject to change at any point in time. We reserve the right to enforce any or all parts of these terms and conditions. Failure to enforce any part of these terms and conditions does not remove our right to enforce any other part of them.
